So much for the slight bump for VAN and REEFER in January, rate levels for February cooled lower than January 2025 across all equipment types. Buyers of transportation should be on high alert as systemic changes resulting from significant unknowns are on the rise. February ISM PMI was slightly positive after positive results from January indicating two consecutive months of economic expansion, however, negative rate data is also being reported across sources in the market.  The timing of negative and positive influences on this economy are leading to almost COVID-like levels of uncertainty.  The best economists, and even the transportation pundits,  will be highly challenged as the economy unfolds.
